Rubbish Removal FAQs

How big are your rubbish removal trucks?

Our distinctive green junk removal trucks can hold up to 13.6 cubic metres of waste and are ideal for large bulky items such as white goods, furniture, wardrobes and bagged rubbish or loose bric-a-brac.

How much weight can they carry?

Our robust waste removal vehicles can carry up to 3 tonnes in weight, which is the equivalent of a 14-yard skip.

Do I need to book in advance?

You can book a day that’s convenient for you or contact us to see if we can provide a same-day service if you need your waste cleared fast. Please be aware that our services are subject to availability on your chosen date.

Will I need a permit?

No, permits are not required for this service. We turn up, clear your waste fast and efficiently and then we’re gone!

Are you properly licensed?

We’ve been in business for over 25 years and are fully insured and are also a Registered Waste Carrier with the Environment Agency.

How much does it cost?

The price depends on how much you’d like cleared. We charge different prices for different amounts so you only pay for what we take. Get in touch today to discuss your requirements.

Do I have to load the truck?

Not if you don’t want to. Our hardworking team can take care of removing all your unwanted waste whilst you sit back and relax.

Skip Hire FAQs

What are your skip sizes?

We currently have three sizes of skips – 6, 8 and 12 cubic yards. Please visit our skip sizes page for more information.

What can't I put in my skip?

Whilst we’re licensed to collect virtually all items, there are a few things we’re not allowed to carry such as asbestos. If you’re not sure about any item you’d like us to collect, please get in touch prior to booking to see if we’re able to take it.

Heavier Waste

We also have limitations on the types of items that are suitable for each size e.g. our larger 12-yard skips can’t be filled up with clay, soil and other heavier items.

Will I need a skip permit?

This generally depends on two different scenarios. If your skip is going to be located on a public highway, you’ll need a permit. If it’s on your own private land, you won’t. We can often help arrange a permit on your behalf so please get in touch to find out more.

How high can I fill my skip?

We ask that you don’t fill your skip above its actual height. If it’s not kept level with the top, we may not be able to take it away unless some items are removed.

Will my skip need to be lit at night?

It’s important that your skip (if on a public highway) isn’t a danger to the public or other road users. Please contact us to find out how to keep your skip legally compliant at night.

What does 'wait and load' mean?

If you don’t want a skip outside your premises for a long period of time, our Wait and Load service is perfect for the job. Our drivers arrive with the skip, place it on the ground and wait for it to be loaded. Once full, they take it away immediately.

No skip permit is necessary for this service and, as a rough guide, this should take less than 30 minutes from arrival to removal. Our drivers may also be able to help you load the skip to speed up the process.

How long can I keep my skip?

We try to be as flexible as possible about the duration of our London skip hire service. Generally speaking, around two weeks is usually sufficient for most jobs so please let us know in advance if you think you’ll need the skip for longer.
